Looking for a private retreat in a beautiful, tropical area, not in the midst of a tourist destination? the Casa could be for you. Located on the shores of pristine Laguna Bacalar (The Lake of Seven Colors) in the southernmost part of the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico, adjacent to the small eco-resort of Rancho Encantado, it offers complete privacy.

Built in 2005 by noted architect, Ricardo Romay. Every feature of the house, from the rich mahogany woods to the artwork on the walls, is designed to provide a beautiful environment. The floor plan is designed with two wings both facing the Laguna.

The other wing has a guestroom/studio, bathroom and living room. In the center, separating both wings and facing both entry courtyard on one side and the Laguna on the other side, is the kitchen and dining room.

Enter through the enclosed courtyard with its bougainvillea and other tropical plants and flowers, including palm trees to the hand-carved front door depicting a Maya scene and look directly through to the turquoise blue of the Laguna.

A long terrace facing the water runs the full width of the house with access from the bedroom, dining area and living room. Here you can enjoy your morning coffee, afternoon lunch or evening dinner. You can spend leisurely hours on the lounge chairs or large hammocks.
